6200 or 8200 nvidia graphic card?

ok, i might be getting a new laptop soon and it has a nvidia 8200 graphic card. Is it any good for gaming? our main comp has an Agp 6200 with 256mb memory. It has 512 mb RAM, 80gb HDD, and an AMD 2.60 gh core. The laptop has 2gb RAM, AMD duo 1.9gh core, and 160gb HDD.

Compared with the desktop, is the laptop any good for light gaming? Im only going to use it with games like SW battlefront 2, dawn of war: Soulstorm and dark crusade, Runescape HD, HOmeworld 2 and the similar.

Thx

Not really. The 8200 is a integrated card (like the Intel GMA but slightly better) and integrated cards are weak at 3d graphics.

there are laptops around the $1000 with discrete video options, take a look around on Newegg.

I would say go with the 8200. i would also say go ahead and upgrade you Ram to 2g

    You’ll be fine!

Thats very clear! for gaming, the Laptop is very good as compared to the PC. Have fun!

    AMD doesn’t make "duo" CPU’s. That’s Intel.

If you have a Turion, call it a Turion, son. Don’t insult AMD like that.

The 8200 is decent, but you won’t be playing any new games or running Unreal 3 engine games (BioShock, Gears of War, etc.) or anything recent on that card.

Add at least 512MB of RAM, which makes 1GB. Then it depends on the graphics card also. If you have the money to spend, I say definitely get the 8200, but if your budget is tight, get the 6200 and add yet another 512MB of RAM (Or add 1GB) and that should help lots. Good luck!
