A gaming video card for pci?
All the good video cards i can find all only fit into the PCIe slots, but i only have a PCI slot. are there any good video cards that could run games like far cry 2 or borderlands that fit the PCI slots?

No, the bandwidth provided by the old PCI slot is just too low for any real gaming cards.
The best card available in PCI is the GeForce 9500GT, which is more expensive and slower than the PCI-Express version of the 9500GT (which is much too weak for high-end games anyway- take a look).

If you’re interested in playing anything like Far Cry 2, you’ll need to invest $50 in a new motherboard with a PCI-E x16 slot (assuming you have a generic machine).
You cannot change the motherboard on brand-name machines like Dell, Hp, Sony etc without installing a new copy of Windows.

No, PCI Graphics cards are old technology. You’d be lucky if you could get Counter-Strike: Source to run smooth on Max settings with a PCI card.
Don’t waste your money upgrading an older computer. Just buy brand new, its worth it in the long run!
You can get the nvidia 9500 GT for PCI that seems ok, but don’t expect any miracles for those type of games you will need fairly fast system with PCIe.
Sorry, but your old OLD computer just isn’t up to it even with a good card. PCI is almost a dead technology when it comes to video. Time to upgrade or buy a new puter friend.
